No, actually, there is a dark building directly behind the leaves, and the sun was streaming in from in front and a little to the left around the corner of the building, lighting the leaves from the other side, and blinding me. I'm not sure what possessed me to take a photo directly into the sunlight, but I'm glad I did.

That last photo is awesome…what sort of angle did you take it on to get the light like that? Straight up and away from the sun? The colors are gorgeous…
