Tips on equipment and methods for professional photography?
I have 14 but I want to go to professional photography suggestion on equipment and their prices, even some of the methods that help
That is a very general question. The cost to enter the "pro" photography is the entire map. It all depends on what type of photography. Sports? Travel for magazines? advertising photography studio (more lucrative), weddings … I think you get the picture. If you wanted to wedding photography you can get set to run for roughly $ 7-10K. But we need a powerful computer and large (24 to 30 "Monitor Pro grade) so let's say another $ 4-7K. In addition, you need a photo software, accounting and other" office "in relation tasks. Then you have to make himself and the entire team. What about maintenance costs? After all that, you have to advertise. Step about $ 600-1000/month that. If you wanted to go into advertising photography, you can start by renting equipment and a studio. But would still cost office and other expenses related to running a business. If you wanted to open his own operation that would have given at least $ 150,000 in start-up costs. $ 250,000 would be more realistic, as it would have to cover expenses while the business was built. You gradually work your way, but if not done it can also damage your reputation along the road. Once you start calling yourself "professional" must be able to offer! Methods? In First learn everything possible now and shoot a lot. Look at all types of web sites that appeal to good photographers. Make a collection of favorite photos that I really like. This will help you decide what type of photography you are looking for, and begin to define your own style. Then go to school for photography. Also, includes both knowledge on the road on business. Businesses know how to be crucial to your success, no matter how good a photographer you are. After school they go to work as an assistant photographer in his field, a couple of years should do the trick. To be a good successful professional photographer is a costly way to long (if you want to do right). Enjoy the journey is half the fun!

How many images of the birthday party you've seen are kept just because someone's birthday, not because it is inherently a picture amazing?
When was the last time you heard anyone exclaim: "This is really a GREAT BIRTHDAY PHOTO?" Can you say … NO?
And yet, birthday parties are happening all the time. Do you think that "practice makes perfect", not you, but this case … uh-uh, apparently does not.
So, here we are with another important birthday party looming on the horizon and not knowing how to improve the past "as the hum" photographs. Not this time! Follow these 11 tips and you will have to start getting used to be called for another photo parts POPULAR birthday.
Can't-miss Birthday Party Photo Tips
1) Preparation for the Party
Abraham Lincoln once said if it is going to cut a tree, spend 90% of their time sharpening the ax. Preparation makes any activity go better. And for birthday parties, I do not have to wait until next year to compensate for lack of preparedness, right?
So what should you prepare for?
Learn location. If the party takes place in a house, ballroom, or in the park, realizing that each place has its own photo "flat." Based on the location plans, prepare in advance for the right digital camera settings for white balance, metering mode, and compensation exposure.
2) Know your barriers
What will be on your way to the birthday party (excluding your drunken brother in the law)? Are there any fixed columns, hanging plants or lights that must be planned around? For example, if a fixed object right on the photos to be taken from optimal, consider the establishment of a more primary table. It is much easier to resolve this before the event to come to the party and realize that it is necessary to "pass the room a little to the left. "
3) The main table
If using rectangular tables, take the birthday party photos FRONT THE GRAND FINALE of the rectangle. In doing so, use the wide angle camera setting. If you shoot photos of birthday of the narrow, use as a large F-stop number as possible (optimally F-22 or higher). However, even if it does, some guests will probably still out of focus (at So the "shoot from the wide end" suggestion).
4) Flash Decisions
Do not automatically assume that you must use the flash the camera all the time. If your camera has a "hot shoe" (this and many other useful terms are defined in href = "http://www.best-family-photography-tips.com/compare-digital-camera-features.html"> http://www.best-family-photography-tips.com/compare-digital- camera-features.html .) If you do, consider using a bounce flash or a diffuser.
How to open eyes, to know how high the ISO setting can go and see if the resulting photos are not very "noisy" (digital noise = film grain)
5) Better safe than sorry
Several of the photographs you take criticism. Consider flash / no flash, metering modes, and different F-stops. Moreover, regardless of what they say or do, people will blink. And Indeed, small spots do not have problems in the tiny camera LCD screen (even on full magnification).
6) The background
How does background like? If it's neutral – use it. If it's ugly, maximize depth of field (smallest possible F-stop) to blur the background. If not write this down, I can guarantee you will not remember more than 10 seconds from the moment you start taking photos. Also note the shadows falling high on the background (Hence the suggestion to consider using bounce flash and without flash, with a high ISO setting).
7) LCD screen
AVOID THE USE OF THE SCREEN TO see nothing but if anyone's head off. The LCD screen should not be used to confirm the contrast, color, exposure, or other critical factor. Therefore, the equipment needed to evaluate test shots before the party. If you are very experienced, you can say certain things from the histogram, but for safety – test shots and examine the results on a computer (or, ideally a printer) long before the effective date of the party.
teams
They have fully charged batteries, memory cards, chargers, external flash, lens accessories, and tripod ready.
9) Build a holiday Birthday Photos List
Enter MUST HAVE pictures, as well as those you want to capture, if possible. And what is good to put together a list unless remember to take it to the party and to refer to it.
10) Candids
If you're building a list, I would suggest including "Candids" in it. Very often the best photos of the birthday party will be candids. Like most birthday photos are generally posed, candids assume a singularity special.
Franco photos birthday party sleeping children should always be a priority. Why? On a purely emotional note, which are always cute, usually brings a smile to the viewer, and sometimes even get a laugh.
11) over time
If part of your child's birthday you never see more than just making before the party starts. If possible, find a place where natural light entering a window and POSE them and the cake big smiling photos. (The younger the child, the less chance of smiles, so do not go crazy.)
And by the way, there will be many more opportunities to take some pictures of the birthday party with cake and ice cream dripping out of his mouth.

No doubt you know too well that, for a glamorous photo to attract attention and artistic vision, which is to hold a major exhibition. No one like to see bad pictures taken of glamor and the colors of the poor, little detail in the highlights and shadows, dark corners and so on.
This described as obvious as it is difficult to exploit. A regular glamor photographer usually shoot thousands of images in one session only to select 10 20 of them. However, the images you select usually have outstanding lighting and colors – so you might conclude that it is several hours and the value of work hard without stopping.
If you want to improve your skills to get a major exhibition of images of your glamor, these 7 simple but effective tips can be just what you need.
1. Consider the light. Yes, it is obvious, but what we really mean by this is that before shooting, it is necessary to have some lucid picture of what the images are and how the mood will take over. Several test shots to show you the pattern light and reveal some obvious flaws in his case. Therefore, it would be a great idea not to work in a hurry, but take your time to create the necessary illumination. Later, when one considers that the change will do so with less effort and more real effect.
2. The white balance. To prevent unnatural colors and shadows, adjust white balance in advance. Your DSLR is well capable of being configured to fix the World Bank with nothing but a sheet of paper. I will not to describe the process of knowing – just look through the manual, you'll find all sorts of instructions to hand there.
3. Speed shutter. Try experimenting with different shutter speed – this affects the amount of light and sharpness of images. High Speed support less light and allow you to achieve a crisp, while "Slow Shutter" gives you plenty of light, but usually requires a tripod or monopod. Take time to choose a shutter speed ideal for work in the current lighting conditions.
4. The use of the HDI. High Dynamic Range images are very popular among photographers because of its attractive appearance, with rich colors and impressive amount of detail. These can be combined in a graphical editor (For example, Photoshop Elements) of three images: one underexposed, one normal and over-exposed. Sometimes, this effect does not add to the glamor photography, although sometimes results prove to be great. You never know if you try, eh?
5. Soft light softboxes. A light box is a tool to screen white and black body places a photographer at the source of light. The light becomes more subtle and dispersed, helping to avoid deep shadows and take a picture "glow." Usually, these things are very effective, because nobody likes detailed shadows, for example, a portrait. You should just know that windows of light can be very useful Once you know what kind of light you want.
6. Number of openness. Along with the shutter speed, the opening number has a direct influence in the exhibition. narrow aperture (high number) admits the least light, but it makes your image sharper. wide aperture (low) delivers the most light and creates called depth of field, when the photo is clearly divided into foreground and background depth and becomes rather flat. Or is it only has to meet their current needs and adjust accordingly.
7. Post-editing. Yes, I know the real gurus are not Photoshop … at least not confess. However, do not feel a loss of discarding a perfectly integrated photo only minor flaw in its colors and lights? A little editing Graphics could bring back to life. That is why after editing can sometimes save your day job to go to work right away. Despite that does not mean you do not have to try to get perfect images in the study. Just in case that the light colors or wrong – shoot in RAW format. Thus you will be able to relive your photo glamor with minimal quality loss.
There really should be the tip of 8, which is "thinking small" – A dozen light sources will not make you a masterpiece. One or two are usually sufficient to produce a decent job. I would also like to mention the tip 9 – "practice." No comments on that, thanks.

As a professional photographer I have been using Nikon flashes for about 10 years. Previously, ie before I switched to all digital, using a Bronica medium format film camera and Sunpak, "potato-masher" flash type of editorial work and wedding.
Since I switched to all Digital in 2000, I used Nikon SLRs and Nikon Speedilights, SB800 and SB600. These are two little rugged flash drives with a lot of energy.
The SB800 is a bit more powerful than the SB600 with a guide number of 125 to ISO 100 compared to 118 for the SB600. However, tracking numbers vary with the zoom level. F8 me my SB800 to 10 feet and 100 ISO with the zoom set to 50 mm at full power. By adding the SB600 at half power, I F9.
The SB800 and SB600 are about the same size and weight at 2.8×5.1×3.7 inches and 350grams for the SB800, and 2.7×4.9×3.5 inches and 300 grams for the SB600. And they both have almost the same characteristics and controls.
Since we specialize in portrait photography, I use flashes when working on site. I really appreciate the light weight and small size units, because each gram counts when carrying a complete gear bag along a stretch of beach a mile and a half, or hiking a mountain trail to reach places!
What I really like these flash units is the way they were built in the dissemination / zoom system. Like all Professional photographers know, the smaller the light source, the harder and more difficult to light the shadows. However, little buggers, with the SB800 as my key light and fill the SB600, I am able to reproduce the same look I get into my studio with a softbox 30×40 inches on my key light and a mesh 4'x6 0.5 'in my front fill light!
I usually zoom the SB800 to 50 mm, and set the SB600 to 24 or 35 mm. The result is a beautiful soft light, with transitions soft from highlights to shadows. Well, actually create specular highlights on the nose and cheeks, but with only a little air brush in Photoshop, the effect is beautiful and soft lighting.
I'm an "old school" photographer, and like to control my own computer rather than let the programs in the control of exposure equipment, so everything works in manual mode. However, the Nikon flashes have a built in remote trigger system also sees the light output and adjusts. This feature is called Creative Lighting System, or CLS.
Reading the manual and try to use the CLS was not as successful for me as I would have liked. I have been unable to find a way to use the CLS flash units in the manual so you can control the output, even though few lights with Nikon cameras. However, there are others who tell me they have been able to do just that.
My biggest complaint about the CLS is that it is an inferred system based, so the flash slave (S) should see the beam unit inferred from the 'Master', and the sensor is on one side of the flash. As a result, the units should be in line sight of each other. And, because the flash master sends a pre-flash, then calculates the data before firing the 'real' flash is delayed exposure. And in a portrait photograph of a lag between pressing the shutter and taking the exposure is not a good thing!
Both SB800 and SB600 have swivel and tilt heads that allow you to bounce the light from the surfaces, and easily direct the light wherever you want. In manual mode you can shoot in full, (01.01) Power, 1 / 2, 1 / 4, 1 / 8, and the power 1 / 16. They also have TTL modes that can be used with Nikon cameras that have a capacity of CLS, and for those they do not.
These flash drives are flash mounting shoe, and the SB800 also has a PC input jack. Both come from small businesses, or While "feet" which are a flat platform with 3 shoe-like connection slots to mount the flash. This way you can attach to a light post and in the bottom of the foot is not a standard threaded nut for this purpose. You can also put the flash on a shelf counter or on the ground by the use of the foot platform.
Powered by four AA batteries and recycle in about 5.5 seconds at full power. I have about 120 full power flashes on a set of batteries. I use the rechargeable batteries, making me full of energy about 120 flashes before having to recharge the batteries. There is an indicator light on the back of the flash to make know when it is fully recyclable, and the recharge time is slow considerably as the batteries get low.
Both flash units have a digital display LCD configuration in the back, and the controls are very intuitive … especially for use in manual mode.
I found the light output to be very uniform and consistent, which is a definite advantage to the vertical illumination. And as I said before, I love the built in dissemination and zoom capabilities. Add to that the light weight and compact size, and durability of these units and has an exceptional location portrait lighting kit!
